FAQ

Wellness counselling is like having a professional personal growth coach who helps you navigate life’s big changes—such as starting a career, finishing your studies, or improving your relationships—so you can stop just “getting by” and start truly thriving.

Not at all. While counselling is helpful during difficult times, it is also a powerful tool for anyone looking to improve their quality of life. Many clients seek support for:

  • Educational & Career Guidance: Navigating academic transitions or professional growth.
  • Relationship Enrichment: Building stronger connections and better communication.
  • Personal Development: Understanding yourself better to live a more fulfilled life.
  • The Counsellor’s Role: My role is not to tell you what to do or give you all the “right” answers. Instead, I act as a professional guide. I provide a safe, objective space and use my expertise to help you uncover meaning in your experiences. I offer tools, perspectives, and proven frameworks to help you see your situation more clearly so you can make empowered decisions.
  • The Client’s Role: You are the primary driver of this journey. Your role is to be open, honest, and willing to explore new ways of thinking. Because you know your life better than anyone else, you provide the “data,” and together we process it. You are responsible for taking the insights we discover in our sessions and applying them to your daily life to reach your goals.

Yes. Professional counselling is based on specialized training, psychological theories, and objective observation rather than personal life status. Much like a doctor can treat a condition they haven’t personally experienced, a Specialist Wellness Counsellor uses evidence-based frameworks to help couples identify patterns, improve communication, and grow together. My role is to provide an unbiased, professional perspective to help your relationship flourish

A Specialist Wellness Counsellor and a Psychologist both support mental well-being, but their roles and areas of focus are different.

  • A Specialist Wellness Counsellor focuses on everyday challenges such as relationships, stress, personal growth, and life transitions. They provide guidance, emotional support, and practical tools to help you cope and grow. They do not diagnose mental health conditions or prescribe medication.
  • A Psychologist is trained to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, or trauma. They use structured therapeutic approaches and work with more complex psychological conditions.

Qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health

Every journey is unique. Some clients find clarity in just 3 to 4 sessions for a specific issue, while others prefer ongoing monthly “wellness check-ins” to maintain their growth. We will discuss a plan that fits your specific needs during our first session.

No, wellness counselling is a private-pay service.

To ensure that every client receives the focus they deserve, sessions start and end at the scheduled time. If you join a session 30 minutes late, we will make full use of the remaining 30 minutes of your hour. Please note that the full session fee applies to ensure your dedicated time slot is maintained.

No. You only need to prepare if you were given a specific task to complete from a previous session. Otherwise, the only requirement is your honesty and openness during our conversation.

While I provide counselling and guidance, I partner with certified external specialists to conduct and interpret formal psychometric assessments.

  • Referral Basis: These services are provided upon request.
  • Separate Cost: Because these assessments are handled by an external partner, the cost is not included in the standard counselling fee. Pricing for assessments will be provided per request based on the specific service provider’s rates.
